Mid-Autumn
Written while living far from home. Beneath the Mid-Autumn moon, distance seems at once immeasurable and strangely small. Though oceans divide loved ones, the same moon shines upon every home, reminding us that memory often travels farther than we ever can.
The evening sky grows high; new longing fills the night.
My dreams return to home before the morning light.
Though duty called me far beyond my native shore,
The ones I love remain within my heart once more.
From distant homes the evening hearth-fires glow;
The ageless moon shines on the world below.
Wherever we may build our lives apart,
One moon still binds us, heart to faithful heart.
My dreams return to home before the morning light.
Though duty called me far beyond my native shore,
The ones I love remain within my heart once more.
From distant homes the evening hearth-fires glow;
The ageless moon shines on the world below.
Wherever we may build our lives apart,
One moon still binds us, heart to faithful heart.
