The Little Clock
Some loves are never truly lost. They simply retreat into the quietest chambers of the heart, where memory grows gentler with the passing years.
The day I first beheld your smile,
the world grew hushed for just a while.
An angel's touch, so soft, so bright,
awoke my hidden heart to light.
A little clock began to chime,
not keeping hours—but keeping time;
each quiet beat, both sweet and true,
counted every dream of you.
But love could never outrun fate,
whose turning wheels would never wait.
We found a harbor, calm and warm,
yet missed the home beyond the storm.
The years moved on with silent grace;
youth slipped away without a trace.
Yet first love's fire still burns the same,
a gentle, everlasting flame.
Whenever this small clock I hold,
its patient hands refuse to grow old.
The ticking slows, the world grows still;
time lingers, simply by its will.
One smile remains, serene and true,
forever bright with morning dew;
not lost in years that come and flee,
but living where time forgets to be.
the world grew hushed for just a while.
An angel's touch, so soft, so bright,
awoke my hidden heart to light.
A little clock began to chime,
not keeping hours—but keeping time;
each quiet beat, both sweet and true,
counted every dream of you.
But love could never outrun fate,
whose turning wheels would never wait.
We found a harbor, calm and warm,
yet missed the home beyond the storm.
The years moved on with silent grace;
youth slipped away without a trace.
Yet first love's fire still burns the same,
a gentle, everlasting flame.
Whenever this small clock I hold,
its patient hands refuse to grow old.
The ticking slows, the world grows still;
time lingers, simply by its will.
One smile remains, serene and true,
forever bright with morning dew;
not lost in years that come and flee,
but living where time forgets to be.
